If you’re looking for something unexpected, try this pilsner from Japas—brewed in Brazil by a trio of third-generation Japanese women—recommended by Kevin Bradford, resident beer expert and curator at Manhattan-based beer bar Harlem Hops. “One of the highlights of Japanese cuisine is the tea,” he says. “And one of the most delicate and flavorful Asian teas is made using the jasmine petals, called Matsurika in Japan. They added these petals to the recipe of a Pilsen, a soft and delicate beer, bringing floral notes to the aroma and palate.”
