What a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth wine! Greco di Tufo and Fiano d’Avelena are two very high quality wines from Campania. The Greco and Fiano grapes are also grown further south in Basilicata where Vignetti del Vulture makes this wonderful 50/50 blend. Its fat, round texture fills the mouth with flavors of orange blossom and hints of guava and apricot. Its balance, finesse, and minerality are a total delight. The 25 to 30-year old vines on volcanic soil are harvested by hand, and the wine is fermented in stainless steel. Pipoli is a brand name used by winery. Wine Advocate (Monica Larner): 88 "The 2014 Greco Fiano Pipoli is an all-Lucano blend of the two white grapes that have made neighboring Campania one of the greatest white wine regions on the planet. This is a beautifully fragrant and tonic expression with aromas of citrus, cut sage, pear, and almond blossom. The integrity and freshness of the bouquet makes this an irresistible wine, especially if paired with sushi or light lunchtime salads."
